Rich Lansley is a writer and performer based on the south coast of Hampshire. His work is a balance of whimsical comedy and heartfelt reflection. Part stand-up, part sit-down poet. He travels and performs all over the country, released his first poetry collection last year, performed at the Cheltenham Poetry slam, keynote speaker at TEDX and supported Harry Baker. Rich continues to push the boundaries of what poetry and comedy can be and leaves audiences with a lasting impact long after the applause has left.

SM is a writer and show host Renegade poet from a town called Ware. The Bard of The Railway, the patron saint of Shirley, you may have seen him performing on in all manner of salubrious bars and unusual locations, or perhaps just hanging off the chandelier with a can of thatchers. Ripper writes from the heart and shoots from the hip. Bold, dazzling and obscure. He plumbs the depth of the human skull and the heights of joy and mixes it up into one delicious hotchpot patchwork euphoria of a show. Delicious. Your Saturday evenings will never be the same again.

Mike is the frontman of Portsmouth based band, Skaraman. A 6-piece band creating energetic sounds with spicy driven brass lines, catchy offbeat rhythms, and lyrical harmony.

As a contradiction to an energetic, brass driven 6-piece, Mike’s solo performances offer a stripped back sound, whilst remaining true to Skaraman’s upbeat style.

Fran Lazarski is a singer, writer and sound healer. Her passion for music and singing has shaped her life - from having sung in choirs as a young girl to performing in folk and electronic bands, performing a cappella alongside a storyteller at festivals and facilitating community sound baths and healing workshops over the last seven years. She bought her first singing bowl in 2009, and went on to study for a professional diploma with the Sound Healing Academy.

In her own words:
"Sound healing, for me, is distilling the pure frequency of universal love that is within and around us, into something tangible and felt. To share sound healing with others is a beautiful, humbling and blissful experience."

Pete will be playing the synth for us, performing his original piece Dragon Dance. An ambient soundscape of layered frequencies and atmospheric textures. The piece is beautifully complemented by live vocals from his partner, Fran.

In his own words:

“Dragondance arose from a book I wrote some years ago. An ancient tribe were given a chant through which they were able to raise the Dragonforce of their world. As a drummer and a druid who has dabbled with rhythm for many years I have used my synthesisers to evoke the spirit of the natural world we once again yearn to be at one with. In amongst all this there may or may not be Dragons.”

We’re so lucky to be joined by our lovely neighbour Melissa from The Hive by Little Bee Bakery.

Expect sweet treats and nourishing bites, with plenty of vegan options available. Drinks are non-alcoholic for this cosy, candlelit evening, although you’ll have the option to try beautifully dealcoholised prosecco from NOUGHTY if you fancy something a little celebratory.

LIVE MEHENDI ART

Ellie, an aspiring henna / mehendi artist, will be with us on the night offering small, hand-drawn henna designs.

Henna is traditionally applied to the hands and feet, so designs will be hands only. Each piece is created using all-natural henna paste. The stain develops over 24–48 hours and typically lasts 1–2 weeks, gradually fading over time.

A beautiful little keepsake from the evening.
